Plastic in the Pacific

There is a huge garbage patch in the ocean, twice the size of Texas, and it is called the North Pacific Gyre, or the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. It is located between California and Asia where clockwise ocean currents "gather" these garbage into a big area of stagnant water.

The images are very sad. Most of it is plastic, and come from land activities (although lost cargo contribute too).
